It is Wander O’Clock, I love my existence.
Someone said it right — ‘We shape our tools, and then our tools shape us’.
This forms the base of how everyone who loves to travel function in the world. This is how every backpacker or traveller perceives his journey & explores the uncharted. And this is how we could learn and be convinced that a great expedition through unknown terrains with the right intent can not only affect a traveller’s or a local’s life but also bring a rational change to make this world a better place.
The number of people who indulge in tourism has gone up by 12% in the last decade with more & more people wanting to explore the corners of the globe for a longer time. India alone sees more than 10 million tourists from various parts of the world scouting its hinterlands for an average of 100 days each.
While there are so many stalwart travellers scaling the corners of the globe, when we take a closer look at their journey, things are meagrely shy of being bright. While they cruise, they are constantly re-inventing the wheel, however, travellers with vivid personal skills but low reach, cannot find their inner-greatness. As a result, their journey is scattered and we haven’t made the whole greater than the sum of its parts, costing us time, effort and most importantly — travel with an impact.
Therefore, we need to find a way to connect inspired explorers and their inspirations that go beyond borders and markets. Instead of ‘reaching out for help’ during their travel, we empower them with ‘push to help’. Putting the issue back at the core and using what they do best — travel and to contribute & be a part of local demography they explore.
Travelling is not just about a fancy backpack, a good pair of shoes & breathtaking Instagram stories and pictures. Instead, travelling is about living through cultures, embracing the traditions of a terrain, moulding your ways through different civilisations and giving back to that ecosystem. A classic opportunity to not only learn about different cultures but also to share your knowledge, your skills with that community.
It’s a different feeling to leave a place knowing you’ve added value to somebody’s life and learned new life hacks from that very life.
In my 6 years of backpacking within India, I’ve lived multiple lifestyles, learned cooking different cuisines, speaking different languages, tried living new professions, experienced extreme life nuances, got hosted by folks alongside ocean jungle & hills, taught a group of students, chilled with a community that just chills, worked in the tea estates, witnessed the largest human congregation on the planet and so on… Basically, acknowledged the value of better living!
With so many people experiencing different terrains in the world, a platform that helps them engage with the local community would not only bring help them explore the terrain better but also empower the local community to learn new skills-set, participate in decent engagement and go beyond just offering them leisure parameters (hotel, food, activities) while on their journey.
We need to establish a ‘force for good’. Thus, directing & connecting travellers for a better world.
Welcome to the world of an Exclamator. Coming soon…
